Find your Junior Golfers Path

Every junior golfer is different. Some kids want to have fun and learn the game, others want to train, improve, and compete.

At Swing Zone, we offer two clear paths so families always know what comes next.

Path 1: Have Fun & Learn the game

Perfect for new golfers and kids who want a fun introduction to golf

Start here if your child is brand new to golf or just wants to learn the basics in a relaxed environment.

Step 1: Intro to Golf

This is where most kids begin. We focus on:

  • Learning how to hold and swing the club

  • Hitting the ball, putting, and basic rules

  • Building confidence and having fun

Step 2: Summer Golf Camps

Once kids are comfortable swinging the club, summer camps help reinforce skills through games, challenges, and on-course style experiences.

👉 This path is all about confidence, enjoyment, and learning at a comfortable pace.

Path 2: Have Fun, Train,
Improve & Compete

For kids who want structured training and game improvement

Start here if your child wants to improve faster, work toward playing on-course, or compete against others.

Step 1: Start with Intro to Golf or a Player Assessment

  • New golfers can still start with Intro to Golf

  • Experienced players may begin with an assessment to find the right next step

Step 2: Choose Your Training Option

  • Private Lessons – Individual instruction tailored to your child

  • Junior Golf Game Builder Program – Structured lessons + guided playing experience

Step 3: Play & Compete (Optional)

Players in this path can prepare for opportunities like:

  • US Kids Golf Local Tour events

  • Playing against other junior golfers

  • On-course performance and scoring skills

👉 This path is ideal for families looking for development, structure, and progression.

Golf Academy Program (November – March) 🎯

Our Junior Golf Academy is our most structured training program and runs during the offseason (November–March).

  • Designed for committed players who want consistent training

  • Enrollment opens after our final summer camp each year

  • New for 2026: A Fall Golf Program will be added as an additional entry point

Spring Program Note:

Our Spring Golf Program is reserved for:

  • Current Golf Academy students

  • Juniors actively enrolled in private lessons

This ensures proper skill levels and consistent instruction for all players.

Not Sure Which Path Is Right?

That’s okay — most families aren’t at first.

Start with Intro to Golf or a Player Assessment, and we’ll help guide your junior golfer to the best next step.

Start with a Jr Golf Skills Evaluation — $39

Best first step for new families.

This 30-minute one-on-one session gives us a snapshot of your child’s current skills, goals, and what they need next. It’s not a full lesson — instead, it’s an assessment that leads to a clear plan.

In this session we look at:

  • Grip, stance, and setup fundamentals

  • Swing basics and contact tendencies

  • Short game instincts

  • Areas to prioritize for growth

Why we recommend this first:

Parents get confidence in our coaching approach and a clear recommendation for what’s best next — whether that’s private lessons or one of our development programs.

👉 And yes — the $39 credit can be applied toward the Jr Golf Game Builder Program if you choose to enroll.

Intro to Junior Golf is designed for kids who are brand new to golf or just getting started.

This class focuses on building confidence and having fun while learning the basics of the game. Kids will learn how to hold the club, make a simple swing, and practice putting through engaging games and challenges. Instruction is kept simple and encouraging — no prior golf experience is required.

This is a great first step before moving into private lessons or the Swing Zone Junior Golf Academy.

No Clubs? No problem. We have both small and tall Junior Sets in right handed and left handed!

Fun Fact, currently, we have more than 25% of our junior golfers are left handed! More than double the national average!

Class Schedule: Mondays 2/2 - 3/23 at 7:15pm - 8:15pm

Cost: $30 for 1 session | $100 (4 sessions)

The Right Equipment Matters

Our Junior and Youth Golf program offers multiple ways to learn and be involved. Our mix of indoor, outdoor, and private training has something for everyone.

Looking to start but don’t know what clubs to buy? Don’t worry, we have several sets of clubs for our Youth Golfers to use during lessons. Spring and Summer Programs

Outdoor Training on Local Golf Courses

Our Junior Golf program packs up and heads outdoors in the Spring 2026 to continue their training on the golf course, learning all of the wonderful things Western Pennsylvania golf has to offer.

This season we have paired up with 2 local courses that will host us this Spring, Summer, and Fall. Our exact schedule currently is TBD, but as in previous years will follow a similar 6pm or later start on class days. Regular training aims to be 60 minutes, and Summer Camps aim to be 90 minutes.

We do have small youth and tall youth clubs to use if your child doesn’t have clubs, in both right and left handed! We recommend contacting us prior to registering to help us keep track of what clubs will be needed.
